IT Financial Management & Computer Network Solutions - (System Implementation)
Challenge
A retail client with $60 million in revenues and store locations in 12 states operating on a legacy POS system with limited transparency to key business data resulting in; low inventory turnover rates, unusually high days outstanding and lack of formal decision making processes across all areas of the business.
How we helped
F&A assisted in the business requirements document (BRD), GAP analysis and the request for purchase (RFP) processes to ensure all needs were met prior to the selection of a final POS system. We worked with operations to re-develop all processes across the company that would be impacted with this new implementation. F&A developed dashboard reporting for senior management, replenishment process for buying, customer data analytics for marketing and performance management framework for store operations. The system was run in parallel, tested and implemented across the company. F&A's team provided end to end training to over 200 associates across the Continential U.S..
Outcome
F&A was able to successfully implement a real time Unix based POS system and sunset the current sever per store legacy system. The project had a one and a half year time frame and was completed in nine months and 30% under budget. Our client experienced immediate benefits. They were able to use the data to gain greater insight into their business and they worked on areas of opportunities such as inventory, pricing, store operations and decision support for all areas of the business.
